Music

Learning Music at Kew High School.

Students who learn an instrument have increased focus, better control over fine motor skills and generally progress faster in their academic subjects.  Lessons are in small groups and students are grouped according to their abilities.

All music students join an ensembles and student rock bands are encouraged, these are formed by students making up their own groups.

During the year there are many performances in school and in the wider community. Some of these are:

Federation Square: various concerts

Lunchtime concerts

Mid-year and End of year concerts

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Well-Being Festival

One of the highlights of the year is our in-house music camp which occurs in terms 2 and 4.
